As managing director, Matt shares with advisors how Mariner Advisor Network can elevate the client experience. He enjoys talking with advisors considering joining the platform about how the firm’s culture emphasizes putting clients’ interests first and supports advisors with business infrastructure, resources and teams to help them succeed.

Prior to Mariner Advisor Network, Matt was the first hire at AdvicePeriod when the firm launched in 2014, where he served in many roles, but most recently was in charge of the AdvicePeriod for Advisors platform. Matt’s team worked with like-minded advisors who wanted to grow and simplify their business while building an asset they own.

Previously, Matt ran the Corporate Strategy team for AdvicePeriod’s Betterment Institutional Initiative. During this time, Matt interacted with thousands of advisors looking to create scale by leveraging technology.

He graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in leadership and instruction. He was a member of the varsity lacrosse team, winning an NCAA National Championship and earning All-American honors. Matt played two years of professional and international lacrosse before starting his career in wealth management.

Matt and his wife Kendal live a very active lifestyle with their new daughter Emerson and golden retriever Watson. When Matt is not with his family or working, you can find typically find him playing golf or paddle tennis, skiing and playing ice hockey.

Since moving to Los Angeles Matt has been an active volunteer with Harlem Lacrosse Leadership serving as a coach and mentor.
